...or rather, the start of about 89 dozen new "somethings".
The long, overused phrase (and for the record I HATE using overused phrases because they're so redundant that they hardly get a point across - and even still, I'm beginning this entire thing with one, yuck)
"A picture is worth a thousand words"
is the best way I can start an explanation as to why I have this obsession with photography - one so strong that holds the potential of being the sole reason I end up in marriage counseling, or possibly family counseling, sometime down the road. My poor fiance, Rick, has to put up with photo shoots on a regular basis. Most often he is less than thrilled about this, but my goodness is he an incredible sport!! In 99% of our pictures you could never tell how much moaning and groaning he did before the shoot, but there is always one that I find while editing where he looks to be the polar opposite of having the time of his life; I, of course, always look thrilled.
It pretty much goes like so...
Brooke = Amused to the fullest
Rick = Why did I ever ask her to marry me in the first place??
Back to the reasoning behind the Blog, pictures. Now, I'm probably a little partial but I think the very large collection of pictures I have acquired over the last year-and-a-half are, well, incredible! I have yet to be disappointed and I also have yet to pay for a photographer - wonderful, right?! With these pictures I have such an amazing basis for all the wonderful stories and events of the last year-and-a-half and will hopefully continue to build on this for all the years to come!
I wanted to collaborate these pictures/stories so that they can one day serve as a reminder for myself, all the little details I might forget along the way, but to also become a storybook for those who are closest to us - our families.
Besides, with all the words I used earlier (bragging terms) such as incredible, amazing, wonderful - I bet you can't wait to continue on this journey with me! You're trying to hold back your enthusiasm with such great force, the same as Rick has to do when it comes to picture-taking-time!
Brace yourself and get excited, soon we will be traveling back to the beginning. Back to the time when I said goodbye to life as I knew it and said hello to my forever.
